PORTES DU SOLEIL
The Portes du Soleil is both a ski and snowboarding haven. Boasting 650km’s of piste starting from shallow beginner runs, to well-kept snow parks, a permanent half-pipe, as well as some of the most challenging downhill slopes in the Alps. There really is something for everyone. For those of you unfamiliar with the area, the Portes du Soleil straddles the French-Swiss border. It has 650km of groomed runs linking 12 different resorts, making it the largest ski area in the world.

MORZINE
Morzine is a ski resort in the French Alps, close to the Swiss border. It’s part of the Portes du Soleil ski area, linked by lifts and cable cars. Partially forested slopes have summer trails and bike lifts. The Col de la Joux Verte pass climbs from Morzine to the higher-altitude resort of Avoriaz, near the Hauts-Forts mountain. In the village, restaurants and bars cluster around Route de la Plagne. It is really easy to get to the ski lifts from all of our properties in Morzine. They are within easy walking distance to the lifts or bus stops.

CHATEL
It is a village in France’s Haute-Savoie region and a base for the Portes du Soleil ski area. A cable car runs from the center to the Super-Châtel piste, which has panoramic mountain views, and summer hiking and biking trails. The village is known for its Alpine chalets, aquatic center, and La Vieille Douane museum, which presents the history of smuggling in the area. Nearby Lake Vonnes offers trout fishing.

Skiers love the traditional village feel of Châtel. It appeals to traditionalists, who adore its low-rise, chalet-style skyline, vibrant year-round community, and the location at the head of a valley on the very outer limits of French soil.
